AFCO has begun construction of a 50,000 square-foot speculative cargo facility that is being developed in the new Airside Business Park at Pittsburgh International Airport, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. On December 11, 2000 AFCO held a groundbreaking ceremony along with Allegheny County Chief Executive Jim Roddy, local Pittsburgh officials and airport representatives.
This $5 million facility is the first of a four-phase project that will total 290,000 square feet. Completion of the first facility is expected in 2002. AFCO also operates three other cargo facilities, which are almost completely filled, at Pittsburgh International Airport on long-term leases that AFCO obtained in 1999.
